FSB West Yorkshire Academia-Industry Network
This event aims to build mutually beneficial partnerships, connecting academics and universities with small business owners.
West Yorkshire has some great universities – What is less well known is they are not just academic institutions but also offer a range of business support services.
Universities want to help small businesses with research, innovation, training, funding and more.
The FSB West Yorkshire Academia-Industry Network is held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month as part of a series of regular monthly networking and learning events.

June will be hosted by Leigh Eyles and will feature FSB Member, Adrian Ashton – an independent Social Enterprise and Charity Consultant – who will be joined by Natalie Allen, Business Development Manager speaking on behalf of Leeds Beckett University.
Industry Presentation – Adrian’s talk will focus on ‘What happens when the relationship between a university and a business doesn’t work?’.
Academic Presentation – Natalie’s talk will focus on ‘Supporting Entrepreneurship in the Leeds City Region’.
In July, Ruth will be hosting this event and will feature small business owner, Sam Baynham. Sam is the Managing Director of the ConeX Portal. He will be joined by Professor Liz Breen, Director of the Digital Health Enterprise Zone (DHEZ) will be speaking on behalf of the University of Bradford.
There will be a chance to raise the profile of your business, make valuable links with people from Universities across West Yorkshire and connect with other business owners.
Non-members are very welcome to attend too, so do forward this email on to anyone in the small business community who could add value to this network.
