Strategic Insights and Practical Tips

Key Takeaways from recent Sayers Solutions Support Session

In our most recent Sayers Solutions Support Session, we discussed topics featured in our Summer School Syllabus helping participants to sharpen their business strategy and stay ahead in today’s competitive landscape.

From understanding the true power of a unique selling points (USPs) to navigating the complexities of stakeholder relationships, our discussions were rich with insights.

Whether you’re rebranding, refining your strategy, or simply looking to connect with like-minded professionals, this session offered valuable takeaways for everyone. Here’s a quick look at what we covered.

1. Strengths vs. Unique Selling Points (USPs):

We explored the distinction between a strength and a USP. A USP is your unique selling point—the factor that sets you apart in the market and ideally gives you a strategic competitive advantage.

For instance, running a business for 15 years is undoubtedly a strength, but it may not qualify as a USP.

However, being an early adopter of new technology, staying ahead of the curve, and being part of an emerging movement could position you more distinctively as a leader in your field.

2. Understanding Stakeholders:

We also delved into stakeholder analysis and its importance in forming a comprehensive external or macro analysis during strategy reviews.

We identified how stakeholders, like software providers, can significantly impact your business if they change terms, prices, or other influencing factors.

This discussion also brought to light often-overlooked stakeholders, alongside the more obvious ones, that businesses should consider.

3. Rebranding Discussions:

One of our participants updated us on their ongoing rebranding efforts.

We collectively discussed the crucial elements that should be considered during such an exercise. It was agreed that rebranding goes beyond just changing a logo or company name; a comprehensive plan is essential.

We discussed how using a Gantt chart can help to organize tasks, schedule time blocks, and manage the project effectively. This tool also serves as a powerful communication aid within the team.

As summer winds down, we shared our excitement for September and the busy months ahead.

While our Summer School has come to an end, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Sayers Solutions Small Business Marketing & Strategy Club!
