Seasonal Update from FSB National Chairman
In the seasonal greeting received from the National Chairman of the FSB, Mike Cherry advised –
“The success FSB has had in 2019 is the result of the commitment and passion of its members and staff.
Together, our achievements have included
: new action to tackle the scourge of late payment to small firms
; £420m pothole funding in England
; a freeze on Fuel Duty for the ninth consecutive year
; success in winning help for our town centres and high streets
; a £10m training pilot for the self-employed
; the protection of future funding for Start-Up Loans and the New Enterprise Allowance
; a halving of apprenticeship co-investment for small employers in England
; a commitment to a fundamental review of the outdated Business Rates system.
We simply couldn’t have achieved all this without you, and other FSB volunteers in every nation and region across the UK.
As we now enter a new decade, one thing is certain, whatever happens next, FSB will continue to be the strongest community of small businesses and the self-employed. Working together – one team, one FSB – we’ll continue to make sure that our voice is heard by governments, and policy makers, at all levels.’
